Group Spaces Available for the Year Ahead
We’re delighted to announce that spaces are now opening in our Scottish Adoption & Fostering groups for the year ahead, with groups starting again in August.
Our groups give children and young people a safe, welcoming and supportive space to come together, have fun, make friends and grow in confidence. They’re also an opportunity to connect with others who may share similar experiences, while trying new things through creative, outdoor and wellbeing-focused activities.
Taking part in a group can help children and young people build confidence and self-esteem, strengthen emotional wellbeing and resilience, discover new interests and develop meaningful connections with others.
Introducing Together We Thrive
This year is particularly exciting as we launch Together We Thrive, a new two-year project funded by The National Lottery Community Fund through the Young Start programme.
Building on the success of Our Rights, Our Voice, Our Art, Together We Thrive has been shaped by the experiences and feedback of children and young people. It will help us create more opportunities for connection, participation and achievement.
The project will allow us to increase our group provision and offer more regular opportunities for young people to take part, connect and build relationships. As part of this, our groups will move to a fortnightly model, giving young people more consistent opportunities to settle into their group and get the most from the support, friendships and experiences on offer.
There will also be opportunities to develop confidence, leadership and life skills, influence services and create positive change, enjoy special events and celebrations, and work towards Dynamic Youth Awards and Youth Achievement Awards.
Group spaces now available

Our groups
We offer a range of groups for children and young people aged 9+, including:
- Artventure – P4, P5 & P6
- Wee Crofters – P6, P7 & S1
- Young Teen Group – S1+
- Teens Boys – S1+
- Teen Girls – S1+
- Older Teens / Ambassadors – age 16+
- LGBTQ+ Group – age 13+
Group times may vary slightly from previous years depending on numbers and age ranges. Sessions are likely to take place on weekday afternoons or early evenings, with confirmed dates and times shared with families once places have been allocated and groups are finalised.
A consistent space to connect and grow
Our groups run on a closed-group model, meaning new members join in August and the group then remains closed for the year. This provides a sense of stability and consistency, helping young people build trusting relationships with staff and peers over time.
Each group is supported by the same staff team throughout the year, helping children and young people feel safe, settled and supported.
What happens next?
Once you have reached out to Lindsay, we’ll be in touch to talk about the most suitable group for your child and any support needs they may have. We’ll also provide more information about the group programme, session dates and timings for the year ahead.
If you have any questions, would like to talk through whether a group might be suitable for your child, or want to discuss any support needs, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
