Role: Freelance Assessor

Here at Scottish Adoption and Fostering (SAF) we are committed to approving high quality, foster carers and adoptive parents to provide warm nurturing care to children who cannot live with their birth families. We are recruiting registered social worker to add to our pool of Form F and PAR-s assessors. This is a home working role, combined with face-to-face visits to families where you’ll get to know the applicants and undertake their home study assessment. Having completed a home study for prospective adoptive parents you will have the opportunity to continue to work with the family through the matching process until the adoption order is granted. We are particularly looking for assessors who can work with applicants within a 60 mile radius of our office in Oxgangs, Edinburgh.

Experience of assessing prospective foster carers or adopters or evidence of your capability in conducting complex assessments is essential.

We offer market rates, including travel expenses, on a per-assessment basis. We also offer regular supervision. If you think you have the right skills and expertise to help us recruit foster or adoptive parents, then please either complete the application form or send a current CV.
